I love Fridays, I love thank you notes, and I love Jimmy Fallon’s Thank You Notes, so, naturally, Friday here on my blog means:
Thank You Notes and Jimmy Fallon!
Thank you, Jimmy!
Thank You Notes
Thank you, Prince. Prince was such a big part of my childhood. His records were played often and posters of him hung in my room, my sister was in love with him. I listened to him with her, it was a bonding experience to listen to Prince with my big sister. Whenever I hear Prince I think of my big sister, my childhood, and of course When Dove’s Cry.
Maybe I’m just too demanding
Maybe I’m just like my father too bold
Maybe you’re just like my mother
She’s never satisfied…..
I cannot believe he is gone. I was honestly hoping to hear this was some sick hoax.
Our class anthem…
Two thousand zero zero party over oops,
Out of time
No, no (Tonight I’m gonna)
So tonight we gonna (party like it’s 1999)
Thank you, week, for flying by. I know I’m usually all… this week went by too fast and time needs to slow down, but not this week, nope. This week my husband was working out of town and had to commute back and fourth, which I hate. The whole reason we live where we live is because 1) good schools 2) good neighborhood and 3) closeness to my husband’s job. I’ve been on the roads here, I’m not a fan of my husband having a long commute, but hey, it could be worse. He could be in another country for a year… we’ve been there before.
Thank you, my little ray of sunshine, for being such an awesome role model for your sister and brother. Keep pushing!
Thank you, Michelle, for such a wonderful series on your blog. If you haven’t caught the I Am Woman series please have a read. 🙂 I shared a guest post over there too. 🙂

Who or what gets a thank you note from you this week? What was your favorite Prince song or memory?
Did you catch my Currently {April} post? I know you want to know what I’ve been up to, right? 🙂

April 22, 2016 at 10:59 amI keep hoping the Prince thing is a hoax. Sometimes I still say that about Elvis or John Lennon.
It’s the good ones. The really good ones.
I need to go listen to Purple Rain now.
MrsA0K2001
April 26, 2016 at 1:25 pmJohn Lennon. 🙁 When people ask, if you could have dinner with 5 people dead or alive one of them is always John Lennon.
I listened to Prince all weekend.

April 22, 2016 at 9:12 pmIt’s so sad about Prince. We’ve lost too many great artists this year.
MrsA0K2001
April 26, 2016 at 1:32 pmWe have. I don’t like it. Is that what getting old feels like? Do we keep losing all the greats? 🙁

April 23, 2016 at 12:49 amI was so sad to hear about Prince. At first I was hopeful that the lack of details meant it wasn’t true or it was a hoax. I love your photos by the way 🙂 Classic. And your hubs is so adorable for taking that photo with the sweet message!
MrsA0K2001
April 26, 2016 at 3:05 pmI felt the same way. 🙁 I just didn’t want it to be true.
Thank you. 🙂
I thought so too, I was so happy when he sent me this picture in my email. I was worried sick and this showed up to let me know he was safe. 🙂

April 23, 2016 at 1:08 pmI was so sad when I heard that Prince had passed away. My life has been filled with his music. So I’m thankful that his music will always remain with us.
I also graduated high school in 99 🙂
Congratulations to your daughter!!!

April 26, 2016 at 3:16 pmThey say: Legends never die. I believe this to be true, he’ll live on in our hearts.
CLASS OF ’99 IN THE HOUSE!! (That was totally a ’99 thing to say.)
Thank you, I’m so proud of her. 🙂

April 25, 2016 at 2:02 pmHere we are on Monday and it’s still hard to believe. I got my Prince on this weekend – with the greatest hits and Purple Rain. I recorded it twice but I’m keeping the MTV version as long as I have a Tivo. There was a splash screen that said Let’s take a moment of silence, and then one with his dates, and the another splash screen with Rest in Purple. It was nice for them to put that recording together.
Love all the pics! Your daughter is a beautiful blend of her parents 😉

April 26, 2016 at 3:19 pmMy husband and I immersed ourselves in Prince this weekend too. Okay, and last night, we watched the SNL tribute. It’s just truly upsetting and hard to swallow that we lost such a musical icon.
And thank you. 🙂
XOXO
