It has been quite a while since I’ve shared a Currently post. I think that whole move from one side of the country to the other side kind of threw me off my blogging schedule. I’m trying to regain a little more structure here. I want to plant myself in my new surroundings and flourish. 😉 However, I may ask for your help in the coming weeks. If I create a blog survey would you be willing to fill it out? I want to know what you like or …. don’t like. Anyway, let’s get back to why you’re here, here’s what I’m up to currently. 🙂
Currently| February
Thinking: Okay, I have a cyclone of thoughts going off in my brain right now. They do not necessarily correspond with one another, but that’s me: open tabs for days!
Tab 1: Don’t forget you have bleach on the counters. BE CAREFUL! Side note: We have tiled counters, I hate them. So, I bleach the grout. Reminding myself this is not our forever home.
Tab 2: You have to order birthday presents!! My daughter turns 14 this month!!
Tab 3: Phone case! You’ll see, it’s a creative post coming soon. 😉
Tab 4: Why is everyone being so ugly about the Iowa Caucus? And more importantly why is there debate about a candidate’s gender not being a big deal? I’m an undecided voter. I want to gather all the facts to see which candidate closest aligns to my ethos. I’m not sold on anyone quite yet. However, I do think it’s pretty awesome that my girls and all little girls can see that women can run for president. I love that there are two women putting themselves out there (I wish they wouldn’t get catty. pssst… Ladies, that’s what they want us to do). I think it is a huge deal that a woman won in the Iowa Caucus. For people (and more importantly women) not to think so solely on the basis of who that woman is, kind of mind boggles me. We don’t have to like everyone, we don’t even have to respect them, but when someone breaks a glass ceiling for us as women- BRAVO!
Tab 5: Cam Newton’s pants. Yay or Nay?
I have more tabs, they’ll close, reopen, and then I’ll add more…
Creating: Well, as I mentioned, I’ll have a post with a creative spin coming soon. I also have a DIY post coming up for Touched Magazine (I’m really tempted to give y’all a sneak peek) Okay, maybe a little something..
I’m also going to TRY to stick with the #DNDChallenge that Dawn Nicole has created. Add another tab: Must create something for today’s prompt.
I’ve been watercoloring like crazy over here. 🙂
Listening: I’m currently listening to the sounds of my dryer and the tick tick tick tickety tick of my dogs paws on the wood floor. However, in the last few days I’ve listened to this song a lot:
Opened tab: I looked up this song while typing this up:
Which then led me to listen to this song:
Reading: Well… I just finished The Joy Luck Club and a book about writing. So, I need a new book soon! Suggestions?
I’m always reading blogs, lots of them!
Planning:
I have a few posts lined up. Okay, I have them planned. 😀
My daughter turns 14 this month, so I plan on celebrating 14 years of motherhood to my amazing teen!!
*It should be noted that I had planned to post this yesterday. I never got around to adding images… eh it happens..
Loving: Life.
Encouraging: I’m encouraging you to join me for Thank You Notes each Friday!
Read a few posts you may have missed in January:
Looking Back (This was technically posted in December)
I also encourage you to love hard and be kind!
What’s up with you, currently?

February 4, 2016 at 1:37 pmStory of my life! Tabs open in my brain & on my screen.
I had been wanting to read The Joy Luck Club for a long time, I’m glad I did. It was good. I wouldn’t say it’s the best book in the world, but it totally held my attention. Now I can watch the movie, finally!

February 4, 2016 at 4:56 amI completely understand that open tab thing. I think it comes with motherhood. Just sometimes I forget a tab is open and almost forget to complete them b4 moving on….Stress!!! Yes, I would love to complete a survey for you. I love how your family is so willing to take photos together for you to get the finish product you display. The family portraits are adorable!
MrsA0K2001
February 4, 2016 at 1:55 pmI think you’re right, or just being a woman. We’re thinkers us ladies.
I’m the same way! I forget too, which is sad because I have reminders setup but STILL. ?
Thank you! I have to put the survey together, I wasn’t sure if anyone would want a survey. I want a little focus with my friends in mind. ?
? Thank you!! We were supposed to have New Year’s cards made. We took a few pictures outside & I was freezing my buns off, so the pictures looked like it, which meant zero cards. ?
XOXO

February 4, 2016 at 3:03 pmHey sweet lady!! I’m so happy to see your lovely face and sweet words here today!!
I hope Thursday has treated you kindly.
I think this quote is the quote of my life ? I’m bad at clearing those tabs, which is why I’m a horrible meditator.

February 4, 2016 at 9:38 amWHERE is that little Buddha from? I love it.
I’ve felt like I had too many tabs open all week. I love seeing that reflected elsewhere. We are all running a million miles a minute sometimes, right?
MrsA0K2001
February 4, 2016 at 3:10 pmRight! It was nice to open up a tab and visit Cape Town with you! ?
I think we’re all in the same boat when it comes to open tabs (random thoughts).
I got the Buddha at World Market last year. I have two actually, I wish I would’ve got more.
XOXO

February 5, 2016 at 1:52 pmWe’re not alone with the tabs! It looks like the consensus is we’re an army of ladies with open tabs. ? And we’re still getting sh*t done! ?

February 5, 2016 at 11:50 amCam does love making a fashion statement. I’m going to give him pass because this is his first Super Bowl and what better way to celebrate your first time playing in the Super Bowl than with a pair of ridiculously overpriced artsy designed pants? I kind of like that he’s always switching it up and throwing us a curve ball.
I’m working on getting better at planning ahead when it comes to blogging. I’m such a pantser and lover of writing in the moment, but that doesn’t make for good consistency. So, I’ve started using an online blog planner and sat down to brainstorm out some future posts. Love the watercolor!
MrsA0K2001
February 8, 2016 at 1:35 pmIt looked like he toned things down yesterday, well, there were he’s fabulous shoes. 🙂
I’m the same way! I plan, but I’m also live in the moment and write kind of gal. But like you said that sometimes leads to inconsistency, and that is something I’m trying to work on here.
Wishing you and your family a beautiful week!
XOXO

February 6, 2016 at 9:51 amWe had these ridiculous ceramic tiled kitchen counters when we moved into our house. Keeping up with the grout was a huge project. We put off replacing them forever because I pictured a huge mess and expense. Surprisingly it wasn’t too bad and I love my new corian counters.
Happy February.
MrsA0K2001
February 8, 2016 at 1:39 pmI would LOVE to replace these counters, but this is not our home. We’ve looked at other houses and we were stunned that tiled counters is a thing here. I’ve never seen so many homes with tiled counters until moving here. Corian counters sound dreamy!!
Happy February to you too!!
XOXO

February 6, 2016 at 10:58 amHAHA, YES! My brain is filled with open tabs. Always looking for suggestions on how to prioritize and close half of them :p
Happy (early!) birthday to your daughter 🙂 Love your home here… I’m so glad that I stopped in from SITS. Also that song has been on constant replay in my brain (stressed out). <3 it so much!
Oy, it's funny. The other day I posted to twitter about a sweatshirt giveaway I have going on for one political candidate. All of a sudden, a troll starts throwing digs at me and calling me out! Like, back off–I'm not looking to have a twitter war. I totally respect the fact that we LIVE in a democracy first and foremost that allows us all to properly research and choose a candidate whose ideals are align with our thinking. it's a beautiful thing 🙂
Anyway, stepping off my soapbox now. Hope you have a great weekend!!
MrsA0K2001
February 8, 2016 at 2:00 pmI’m looking for that same download for my multiple tab running brain. 😀
Thank you for the birthday wishes for my daughter. 🙂
Oh the Twitter trolls! I try to refrain from getting too political there because I know they’ll come for me, I’m not looking for them, but it seems they’re always looking to pick a fight with someone. The worst troll ever came at me when I asked for help to look for the murder in Charleston with his picture attached. A man tweeted me back, “That dude is a frig’n HERO. That was not political, just hateful.
I’m thankful we live in a country with democracy, I gladly support you stepping on your soapbox and using your rights. 🙂
Thanks for the visit, Charlotte!
XOXO

February 6, 2016 at 11:55 amI enjoyed your currently post! I have done currently a few times and LOVE how it helps me organize my thoughts (and yes my zillion open mental tabs) and look back at my week!
MrsA0K2001
February 8, 2016 at 2:52 pmThank you, Paula!
I think I’m going to finally bring back Currently posts, I use to do them monthly. 🙂
I enjoy doing my Thank You Notes each Friday to reflect on all the things I’m thankful for, big and small.

February 7, 2016 at 8:44 amSo happy to see this at my party! Thanks for joining me. Survey: I’d be happy to fill one out for you, but honestly, I love your blog so you wouldn’t need to change a thing. Always a happy and positive place to visit. Iowa, politics, candidates…. Don’t get me started. I watched the debate last night and I had to turn it off, they all just made me so angry. Bullying… All bullying and such a great example to our young when we try to teach them not to be a part of it. See, I have to stop. See you at your Mommy Blog Hop tomorrow. Enjoy the game today! Panthers, all the way!
MrsA0K2001
February 8, 2016 at 3:06 pmYou know I had to support m’friend! 🙂 You’re such a sweetheart, Michelle, thank you! I feel like I may need a little more direction or structure, we’ll see. 🙂
The bully is disgusting. Grown people should try their very best to be examples. My kids overheard an ugly comment Trump made about being able to kill someone on the street and nobody would care. My son, the seven-year-old said, “That was mean, Mommy. That man is not very nice.” I wish politics could be nice and truly bipartisan.
Sorry about the game yesterday, I hope you still enjoyed your night.
XOXO

February 10, 2016 at 1:41 pmWhen my husband asks me what I’m thinking about…I always say I have 72 tabs open in my head, which one would he like to know about? HA! #MMBH
MrsA0K2001
February 10, 2016 at 9:54 pm? Sometimes it feels like I have 50,000 tabs open. Could you imagine if we walked around with thought bubbles!?!?!
XOXO
