DIY Candy Cane Sugar Scrub

DIY Candy Cane Sugar Scrub
Sugar Scrubs are the best and easiest DIY gifts to give for the holidays. You can make huge batches of sugar scrubs in different scents for friends, family, teachers or even your mail carrier.
Hey, the price is right too! Sugar scrubs are inexpensive, especially if you repurpose old jars to hold your scrubs.

You can’t think of the holidays without smelling the sweet and minty smell of candy canes, right?

I absolutely love the smell of candy canes, but that may have to do with my obsession with peppermint oil. Peppermint oil is used almost daily in my home. I love to clean with it, calm myself down using it and I even use it for my hair. Yes, I said my hair. Peppermint oil helps to stimulate hair growth.  Did you know that? Anyway, this sugar scrub smells amazing and leaves your skin feeling and smelling wonderful.
Side note: I previously shared this DIY for an online magazine I use to contribute to.

Let’s stop talking about it and get to making it!!

Here’s what you’ll need:

  • 1 Cup Coconut Oil
  • 1/2 Cup Sugar
  • Peppermint Essential Oil
  • 2-3 Candy Canes (Optional)
  • 2 bowls
  • Food Processor
  • Mason jar/cleaned out candle jar

How to DIY Candy Cane Sugar Scrub:

  • In a large bowl combine coconut oil, sugar, and around 8 drops of peppermint oil (more or less depending on your preference).
  • With your hands mix the ingredients together, the scrub should feel wet but not soupy, you may need to add more coconut oil or sugar to get the right consistency.
  • In a food processor add candy canes and pulse until fine.
  • Place the candy cane dust into a separate bowl
  • Add half of the sugar scrub to the bowl with the candy cane dust and mix together
  • Now it’s time to start filling the jars!
  • For the classic candy cane look alternate between the candy cane and non-candy cane sugar scrub mixtures.

Hope all is well and that you and your family are staying safe and sane during these crazy times. Also I didn’t know that peppermint oil helps to stimulate hair growth and I’m losing so much of that these days 😩 sending much ❤️ Your way!
