I’m Funny How?

NaBloPoMo_1114_465x287_NOV_0

Nov 19: Are you the funny one in most groups? What kinds of things do you find funniest?

Nov 20: Do you have a book in you? Fact or fiction? Related to your blog, or totally different from it?I’m behind.  I’m behind on all things blog, but for a very good reason, and for a not so good reason.  I’ll share the good reason tomorrow, well not in depth, but in a Thank You Note 🙂  The not so good reason, I have had the blogging blues… does that ever happen to you?  I just got behind, I tried to catch up, I went and showed some love here and there, and well that love isn’t always returned… this, of course, made me question myself.  Am I doing something wrong?  I don’t know, I guess, I’m just whining, and I need to stop.

You're not Nutella, you cannot make everyone happy.

Anyhow, I don’t want to lose my  NaBloPoMo mojo… so let’s do this.

Funny How

Am I funny?  Do I have a book in me?  I find it hilarious that these two prompts were neighboring one another because my husband is always telling me I’m funny & I need to write a book.  My husband seems to believe I’m one of the funniest people on Earth.  You know what?  He’s right.  No, I’m not the funniest person in the whole wide world, but I am pretty damn funny and I need to write a book.  I’m really quite witty, and after 8:30 p.m  I become a foul-mouth pirate. Heck, it’s 9:20 p.m it’s pirate time! I’m a freakin’ (I was going to use the mutha of all naughty words, but sponsors and what not) smart ass! My best comedic reaction comes from me just being an ultra witty smart ass.  However, if you ask my Mom she’d say it’s my “voices” 🙂  I can hear her now in sort of a whine, “Deeeaan do your (fill in the blank) voice.”

Johnny Depp'ing It

As for a book, I’ve written many children’s stories, they’re just stuck in my Black & Red journal. I also have thought of writing a book on my experience of being a yellow Latina, or as my new doctor’s office classifies me: white.  Story of my life 🙂  I’ve held off on posting different blog posts in the event I’d like to use them for “my book”.  My Tia told me, I think TWO Christmases ago, I needed to make my dream a reality.  She wanted me to write something, and I’ve written plenty, but I think she wanted something more.  Sometimes, I want more too.

Are you funny?  Do you have a joke? Book?

I get the blogging blues…I think I had them in September. It’s hard when you show love and get none in return.
I am decidedly *not* funny, except on occasion mostly by accident. My husband and I joke that “I made a funny” because it happens so infrequently! I have book ideas floating in my head, but not for a novel.
I do hope you make your book dream a reality and I will be lined up to read it!

Aww thanks, Bev!! Seriously, it’s friends like you that get me through the blues 🙂
      Really? Not funny?
I’m not sure if I can write a novel. Isn’t it something to be admired the ability to come up with a whole novel/story from nowhere?

I had the blogging blues in October. It’s though!
I don’t know if I’m funny. I find it interesting that if I’m around someone very funny, I can match them. And not only that, it’s like an instinct I can’t control.
    So maybe I’m slightly funny?

      It is tough 🙁
I don’t like it… and I’m quite sure my husband is tired of hearing about it too.

I know exactly what you mean! Funny breeds funny 😀

    Hey Dean,

Happy Friday! I’ve been exactly where you are…the blogging blues and it sucks. I don’t think you’re doing anything wrong. As a matter of fact in a Facebook group I’m in (which I think you would fit right in with your pirate mouth 😉 ) we’ve talked about how there’s a lot of sharing but not a lot of socializing or relationship building which is key in this business. Maybe it’s burn out or the holidays but I have noticed it too.

I think all moms are funny. We have to have a sense of humor do deal with all the crap on our plate :). My kids are older teens now so I can throw a curse word here and there…they get a kick when I cuss ’em out in Spanish LOL.

Just keep doing what you’re doing hun and yes, go for that book!

I for one am glad we’ve connected and I’m looking forward to getting to know you! I’ll be off this week on (gasp) vacation but I’ll pop in from time to time. I can’t stay totally offline! Have a great weekend and happy Thanksgiving!!

      Thank you, Cori!

You are such a sweetheart! I too am seriously thankful we found each other, it’s been such a pleasure connecting :). I agree there is a lot of sharing, which I’m thankful for, but I also crave connection. Holidays seem to create a drop off in engagement, I get it, I’m busy, people are busy, but I the craving is always there.

My kids think it is absolutely hysterical when I curse on accident in their presence 🙂 If I curse in spanish, it’s even more hilarious, because right afterwards, I say DON’T REPEAT THAT. Followed by why, what does it mean?

Have a lovely vacation! Enjoy your grateful gluttony 😉 I will.
      XOXO

Publish your writings! Do it! I think I’m smart ass funny. My husband says I’m feisty. I’ll take both!

I get blogging burn out all of the time. I think it’s good to take a step back and live. You know what I mean? In the breaks you can find your inspiration. And there’s a lot of, for lack of better terms, selfish bloggers out there. They’re toxic – just stay away from them. xoxo

Feisty!! I like feisty, I’ve been known to be feisty 😉 So, that’s it, we HAVE to meet up someday.

I totally know what you mean. I’m an avid supporter of living life and taking breaks to do so 🙂
Thankfully, I have been lucky, I have become friends with the most supportive bloggers 😉
      XOXO

I was kind of a class clown in high school with my friends. Sometimes it was for attention I have to admit but I think it’s my personality too. I can be really sarcastic and my husband still finds me funny so that’s good! You need to do something with your writing! I have a feeling it’s really good!! I used to write more than I do now. It’s just hard to get inspired to write lately.

I think my “acts” were for some attention too, but I also enjoyed/enjoy making people laugh. If I can make people smile or laugh my day is made.
I’m glad we have husbands that can handle all this. 🙂

As for writing, I’m glad you are writing again. I missed you, but NOW, with BD, I’m loving it! I know I’ve said it before, but I can see you’re loving ‘it’ again 🙂 If you do ever plan on a book, I’ll be there for you. ; )
      XOXO

You already know how behind I am, especially for #NaBloPoMo, but I’m still posting. On being funny…I’d like to believe I am, some people tell me I’m a trip, but it could all be in my head, lol! I have a pretty dark sense of humor, maybe its the military in me, but I tend to find off kilter things funny…and those I usually joke about. Not always appropriate, but nevertheless, that’s my funny.

I totally get it, sometimes, even I surprise myself with my off-color humor. I wasn’t in the military, but I was around the military. My husband- veteran, dad-veteran, various members of my family- veterans, and I grew up in an ARMY town. I grew up hearing Jody, so of course, I have some cynicism buried in.
      XOXOXO

Get up out of those blues…your blog had me weak lol. I love your writing style, I love witty writing…I may be biased because I write in a similar fashion lol. I have the blues sometimes and I just started, mines is more of intimidation at being new at this and not knowing how and with whom to network. You are doing an awesome job…we all get the blues sometimes just don’t let it keep you down…you’re great!

Thank you, Brittany!! Totally just made me smile 🙂
I’m happy to connect with another witty pants blogger 😉
The fact that you’re a SITS Girl is a huge step in the right direction in regard to networking IMO. I think we all get intimidated, in the beginning, I still do, and it’s been way over a minute.
      Wishing you all the best!
      XOXO

Yes. I think the blogging blues are part of writing. Life, work and general stuff just get in the way.

I promise I did NOT let the blogging blues beat me; I’m sorry for the delayed response. Yes, life has a way of creeping in… right?
