Thank You Notes: Fotos y Recuerdos On a Saturday

I’m running a bit behind today. Do you guys mind if I write out some weekly Thank You Notes?  Friends, where did this week go? I cannot believe I forgot to post my Thank You Notes on FRIDAY! Okay, so I didn’t completely forget but when I remembered it was too late because my day was no longer me-time it was our (family) time. Anyway, I’m here and I’m not going to let Thank You Notes fall by the wayside. Shall we begin?

I love Fridays, I love thank you notes, and I love Jimmy Fallon’s Thank You Notes, so, naturally, Friday here on my blog means: THANK YOU NOTES!

(Full disclosure: I haven’t watched The Tonight Show in quite some time, but it’s always nice to catch up on Thank You Notes via YouTube.  )

(Saturday) Thank You Notes

Thank you, family, for spoiling me over my birthday weekend. Each one of you made me feel so special. And I’ve never been called queen so much… I think I like it.  Yasss, Queen 🙂  I may have eaten my weight in carbs.

Thank you, animojis, for being my family’s new pastime. “Mama, can I see your phone? I wanna try something.” is now in the running after, “Mama what’s for dinner?”

Thank you, #everydayaphotoaday Challenge for making me really hone in on my photography skills. ::: Under my breath::: Just when I was trying to let go of perfectionism. I cheated the on Thursday and used a throwback picture and I missed Friday there, too. I’m jumping back in today.

Day Three!! MADE ME SMILE. Okay, two things I HAD to share. 1) My mother in law is pretty damn rad. This beautiful glass dip pen, ink, and a red leather bound notebook (not pictured) showed up at my door this morning and it made me smile. My MIL was one of the first people to tell me I could make money from my handwriting. I thought that was a funny thought back then but it really wasn’t.

I actually made money in high school making Christmas signs for my ROTC instructor. Random, right? 🖋 2) The red notebook pictured was gifted to me from my daughter, the 16 year-old junior in high school.💕Anyway, where was I going with this, oh yes.. football! The 2nd picture is from 2013 at a high school game.

When I took that picture high school felt so far away!! Fast forward to the third picture years later, two out of state moves in between, and here we are in the same spot but this time MY junior in high school is on the field to represent the juniors in her high school’s powder puff game. It made me smile thinking about this memory and where we are and how I’m glad I capture moments. #everydayphotoaday

Thank you, insurance!! My son’s glasses were broken this week by another classmate while they were “playing” basketball at recess. The warranty on his glasses had expired but thankfully I remembered our insurance covers one replacement. That wasn’t mentioned to me but I was offered 25% off, thank goodness my mind hasn’t slipped too much in my old age. Anyway, my son and I made the best of our day together.

 

Thank you, baby girl, for having me sharpen my algebra skills this week.
