I love Fridays, I love thank you notes, and I love Jimmy Fallon’s Thank You Notes, so, naturally, Friday here on my blog means:
Thank You Notes and Jimmy Fallon!
GOOD NEWS!! Jimmy is back!!! However, we have to wait for this week’s Thank You Notes. Let’s listen to some Pros and Cons instead shall we?
Thank You Notes
Thank you, Washingtonians, for not believing we need AC here. You’re right, who needs the AC, there’s no such thing as global warming. :::MELTS INTO A PUDDLE::: I’m half kidding here, because although this is one of the most BEAUTIFUL places I’ve ever lived with the most glorious summer, it does get hot. Which is ZERO FUN.
BUUUTT the bright side is: we left our house for a short while to enjoy some pizza (at an air conditioned establishment), went for a walk on the beach, and walked around the town center (with more air conditioned establishments). I know, I know, first world problems. You’re right. And that’s why we made the best of our Friday and lived through it on Saturday.
Thank you, Washington, for going all FALL on us this SUNDAY! I love the way you keep us guessing like that. We went to bed sweating our buns off to wake up to fall-like weather Sunday morning. It was like a Christmas miracle. We were so happy. THANKFUL. We made sure to take advantage of the wonderful weather. There was also a library visit, because you need books on fall-like days. (Even if they do not stay fall-like.)
Also, thank you, Washington for a lovely year!
Thank you, technology, for being the vessel that allows my family and I to grouptext about these poor kids today with their technology. 😀
Thank you, kids, for making Mama proud today.
They made their own volleyball court out of bungee cords and chairs. (This is our side yard where we keep our basketball hoop and obviously our trash, compost, and recycling.)
Who or what gets a Thank You Note from you this week?
Share your Thank You Notes with me. 🙂
Did you catch my Currently August post?

August 26, 2016 at 8:05 amMost homes where we live don’t have central ac even though it gets quite hot & humid here. (We miraculously found one fo the rare homes that does have it, thank goodness because we had a really long heatwave here recently.) I’m thankful for the beautiful weather — and dip in temps — that we had at the beginning of the week. I’m looking forward to fall!
Love the creativity that flows in your family 🙂

August 26, 2016 at 5:40 pmIt gets surprisingly hot over there. My husband was in Connecticut a few weeks ago and it was in the upper 90’s. He was shocked that some of the houses there do not have AC. Bu then again, Chicago had some AC-less houses too. Thankfully, when we lived there we had AC. 🙂
I’m glad y’all lucked out, because I really think things are only going to get hotter… but that’s my opinion, I’m not a scientist or anything. 🙂
I LOVE FALL!!
Fall is my favorite. 🙂
And thank you!
XOXO

August 26, 2016 at 1:56 pmAwwww, I always love your Friday lists 🙂 And that Fallon for this week was hysterical (LOL @ “Fibber One”). Hope you are managing to stay cool this summer — I am just about ready for summer to be over. I love a good, cool, crisp fall day 🙂 Also awesome sugar skull!!

August 26, 2016 at 5:42 pmThank you, Charlotte. 🙂
Fibber One 😀 😀
I don’t want summer to end, but I want summer to end. I’m not ready for all the schedules and stuff like that, but I do love FALL. 🙂
THANK YOU!! Happy Friday!!

August 26, 2016 at 2:49 pmI love their DIY Volleyball set up!
I would not be well without at least window AC units!
MrsA0K2001
August 26, 2016 at 5:44 pm😀 Oh those kids, they crack me up. They made a obstacle course, I was proud once more, but a little anxious. It was crazy looking and there were skates and scooters involved.
NO AC UNIT HERE. 🙁
We have tons of fans. I guess you live and you learn. We will be ready for next summer.
Happy Friday!!
XOXO

August 26, 2016 at 7:11 pmWow! Sounds like you had to deal with some serious heat last week. Thank God I’m in the Bay Area where we constantly complain about it not being hot enough. I love Jimmy Fallon those Pros and Cons cracked me up.

September 1, 2016 at 11:32 amThose Pros and Cons were pretty funny. 🙂
I hope the last days of summer have been good to you.

August 27, 2016 at 7:03 pmNo AC is no fun, but how awesome that you guys found a way to still enjoy the day!

August 28, 2016 at 1:41 pmOh my, has it been so long since I stopped by that you’ve moved again or are you on vacation? I’d take a little fall weather, but I need my ac anywhere that it gets hotter than 80 degrees 😉 It’s 94% humidity here in the Carolina’s – not to mention the heat index. Yuck!
MrsA0K2001
September 1, 2016 at 11:38 amI think you’ve visited since I’ve moved here. I’m now in Washington, I’ve been here for a year. 🙂
The Carolinas’ heat and humidity are no joke! When were in South Carolina our a/c line was cut on accident by a maintenance worker; we had a very nasty, hot, sticky summer night. 🙁
XOXO

August 29, 2016 at 9:59 pmSan Francisco is a place that really doesn’t need a/c, but it’s funny because there are those 2-3 days a year that do get so hot! The city gets stifling! But it’s not humid heat so it’s always still better than here. Although climbing those near vertical hills on one of those said days is rough!
People here don’t have a/c which is like not having it in SC in my opinion.
That’s my tangent!
Your kids rock!
MrsA0K2001
September 1, 2016 at 11:40 amExactly!! It’s the same here. Though I did feel some humidity this last time around and it was no bueno.
I’ve noticed that a/c isn’t huge in the older east coast homes, I don’t know about that with these climbing temps.
Thank you!

August 30, 2016 at 1:52 pmThank YOU my friend for keeping it summer. Too many people are all into the fall already. Why are people in such a hurry? Lets continue to enjoy the few weeks of summer we have left before leaping into pumpkins and sweaters.
I have to say that we are spoiled here in Florida with our ACs. We go from our air conditioned homes to our AC cars to the AC stores, super markets . . . I don’t even know what would happen if––God forbid 😮 ––one day we couldn’t have AC anymore. I think all Floridians would melt like sugar in the rain. 🙁 Although . . . I don’t miss the AC when I’m at a park or the beach. Gotta love nature.
Growing up my siblings and I were like the ‘Little Rascals’. We were outside all the time running, jumping, getting dirty! None of us had a weight problem, as a matter of fact we grew up very healthy and strong. Now, too many kids grow up glued to their phones, tablets and whatever other tech toy they can get their hands on. They’re pale, overweight, antisocial . . . kids need to go out and play with other kids. They need to run around, ride their bikes, swim––they need to get out of the house and into nature and they need to disconnect.
Lovely post, as usual. <3 xx

September 1, 2016 at 11:47 amIt’s tough, because as much as I love the lazy days of summer, I’m head-over-heels for fall. I will probably… I will be annoying with my fall love, I’m sure of it. 🙂 Don’t hate me.
I couldn’t imagine no AC in FLORIDA. That would be horrible, that would be down right deplorable! I’m with you, in nature, anything goes. As much as I wouldn’t consider myself outdoorsy I love getting outside with nature, it calms me.
Childhood for us was so different. Summer for me was skinning my knees, jumping in puddles of mud, and playing basketball all night. I loved it! My husband and I try to give our kids a similar childhood, but it’s not the same. We need a big backyard for these kids and a neighborhood of
(social) kids would be great too.
XOXO

August 31, 2016 at 4:33 pmI’m ready for fall too. The weather here is still low 90’s and upper 80’s but it still feels nice compared to the heat that we had in July. So I’m thankful for cooler temperatures.
Your kids are very creative. I like the way they made themselves a volleyball net.
MrsA0K2001
September 1, 2016 at 11:49 amYes, bring on the lovely sweet smell of fall and brisk mornings with a cup of hot coffee. 🙂
I will miss my lazy days with my babies, though.
Thank you, they make me proud. They’ve created some other new games, I cannot tell you how happy my mommy heart is about that. 🙂
XOXO
