Thoughts

Posted on

Over the last few days my mind has been swirling with all sorts of thoughts. I’m saddened, but I almost feel slightly numb. It seems like sad news has become the norm.

What do you say after something like this? What words can make it right? Or what words can you speak that aren’t too light for the pain that the world is going through? Do you go about life while others mourn? Do you joke about life or should you sit quietly and be thankful to have one? If you’re muted haven’t they won?

It's so loud inside my head with words I should have said Thoughts Mrs. AOK, A Work In Progress

Didn’t they want us NOT to live?

As I drown in my regrets

Should we see this as an opportunity to say all the words big and small? Should we live or do we just give in?

HELL NO! We won’t let them win!

They can try to mute us. They can generate fear. They can spread their hate. But we all know love wins!

Today: the words will flow, the smiles will be shared; the happiness will not be depleted instead it will cultivate.

Live today.

Love.

Be kind.

Your turn, let it out!

I think we continue to live our lives because we are still alive, but we talk about it to make sure no one ignores what happened. The world has to get better eventually!

I sure hope so, Becca. I mean I know we will, but I just don’t know when. I hate that my kids’ entire lives has been war and hate filled. I’m hoping they can see world peace in their lifetime.

What happended in Paris was horrible and scary. I know a lot of people are focused on all the bad that is going on in the world. However, there is so much good going on in the world that I wish would get more attention to help balance out all the bad news we constantly hear about.

I agree with you 100%!! Wouldn’t it be nice if every news channel would end the news with good news? I was down the rabbit hole of YouTube and I found a video of a news channel that does a Pay It Forward segment, they actually pay kindhearted citizens money for their kindness. Someone has to nominate them. I thought this was so sweet.

Well spoken, friend! I too struggle in moments like these, with what to say and what to do. The tragedies of last week — of Paris and Beirut — are just horrible. Sometimes I wonder what kind of world we are living in, and what kind of world I am raising my child in. I just hope that through teaching her love for her fellow humans and an appreciation for our differences that together we can help make this world a little bit better and happier.

I just think it’s sad that our babies are growing up in world with hate and war. I’m seriously hoping one day they can see world peace. I think you’re doing and will do a fine job of raising a beautiful human that will be the good our world needs. 🙂

XOXO. LOVE the quotes. I’m writing something somewhat similar in my blog tomorrow.
So much sadness and so many words we shouldn’t silence.

LOVE is always the answer! I don’t understand all of the madness or how such deep hatred can exist. Why? Love for you and your family. xoxo

Did you see the video of the dad explaining the Paris attacks to his son? It was so beautiful and I can only hope I could be that strong for my kids the way that dad was. He reassured his son that France is their home, and that ‘we have flowers’ when the son expressed his fear about the terrorists’ guns. We truly, truly need more love and empathy in this world, now more than ever.

I haven’t seen it this video, I’ll have to look for it. It’s so sad that the dad even had to explain such a horrible crime against humanity. My daughter (13yo) had a practice lockdown in school yesterday, it saddens me that she even has to do that. You’re right, we certainly need more empathy in this world, now more than ever.
