It’s Day 8 of 12 Days of Blogmas!! Today we’re sharing a few of our favorite holiday things. In the past I’ve shared my family’s favorite holiday movies, shows, songs, and books. I’m cheating today, I’m recycling those posts and I’m also sharing my Neat Blog Award answers. 🙂
Our Holiday Playlist {Family Favorite Holiday Music}
If you visit with my family or take a drive with us during the holidays there’s a 98% chance you’re going to listen to Christmas music. We’ve been playing Santa Radio and Holiday Music channels since last month. Here are a few of our favorite songs:
Our Favorite Holiday Shows and Movies
This may have changed… but these were their picks in the past.
*A Christmas Story
Our Favorite Holiday Books
I feel like I should update this one, because I’m sure the kids’ picks have changed (this was from 2014). I think I may update this one when the kids come home from school.
And now for the NEAT part!! 😉
My friend Ashley of Happy.Pretty.Sweet nominated me for the Neat Blog Award. 🙂 And I’m accepting! Thank you, Ashley for the nomination.
Here are the rules!
Post the Award logo and answer the questions asked by the person who nominated you.
2. Thank the person who nominated you in your post and link to their blog.
3. Nominate and link to some bloggers you’d like to see respond.
4. Create 7 questions for your nominees to answer & let them know they are nominated in a comment on their blog.
Here are my answers to Ashley’s questions:
-
-
-
- What’s your favorite holiday tradition? That’s tough, we have so many! We like to bake cookies with family and friends, there’s Saint Nicholas Day, Latke showdown, our Christmas Eve game night… I could keep going.
- What’s the best present you’ve ever been given? The computer I’m typing this on. My husband purchased my iMac for me when I finished my degree a few years ago. 🙂
- What do you think is the best present you have given someone else? Life. I’m a mom and I’ve given three people life. 😀 Does that count? I’m kidding, I’m kidding. Hmmm let me think… For my husband’s birthday (when we were newlyweds) I purchased him his first grill. I put the grill together myself and placed it on our little apartment deck. He was so surprised and happy. We were so broke back then, grilling outside became our version of weekend fun. 🙂
- What’s at the top of your wishlist? My hippie answer: world peace, because we could totally use it. My dream answer: this Silhouette Cameo Bundle or a drum set. Real life answer: Clothes? Camera charger for my neglected camera?
- What’s your favorite holiday memory? Oh my goodness I have so many favorites. As a parent I get to live through the magic of the holidays again and I’m loving it all. Seeing my babies at the top of the stairs on Christmas morning with so much joy or to see them chase an elf around the house (even though I just want to give the damn elf a sock (to free him)) it’s the best.

Have you been naughty or nice this year?

7.Do you have a go-to gift you like to give? Books, candles, gift cards. Someone once asked me what would be a good gift for my kids, I answered books. Then I got this reply, “I want to give them a real present.” Books are one of the best presents you can EVER give.
I nominate: All of you! And the 12 Days of Blogmas Bloggers
Please, please, pretty please, join me! I want to read your answers. If you join along please let me know. Consider this a blog prompt and slap that award on your blog, because I nominate all of you, my fabulous friends!!
My questions for you:
-
- If you could only listen to one holiday song during the holidays for the rest of your life, what song would it be?
- Where’s your dream place to celebrate the holidays?
- Would you rather wrap 100 presents or decorate 25 Christmas trees?
- You know I’m a cookie lover. What’s your favorite holiday cookie?
- What’s the weirdest gift you’ve ever received?
- Would you rather watch The Elf or National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation?
- What’s your dream for the new year?
I cannot wait to see your answers! So, what are some of your holiday favorites?

December 13, 2016 at 8:17 pmOnly one Christmas song would be hard to pick. But I could only listen to Stevie Wonder’s Christmas album and be really happy. I like seeing Frosty, Charlie Brown, and the Grinch every year.

December 14, 2016 at 1:55 pmYou are doing so many fun things on your blog this month! Gosh, I don’t remember the last time I saw the Mariah Carey “All I want for Christmas Is You” video–so sweet 🙂 I just love how Christmas music instantly puts me in the mood and ready to celebrate the season. I want to know more about latke showdown! Sounds intense but also delicious 🙂
I don’t think I’ve ever seen National Lampoons Christmas movie! Home Alone, Elf, Christmas Story, and Home for the Holidays are always my favorite holiday classics. Your blog is always so much fun to visit! XOXO
