Liebster Award Nomination

Posted on

Oh happy day! I got this amazingly sweet nomination for a Liebster award from the lovely Michelle over @ On A Wing And A Prayer.  Thank you Michelle– I’m taking your blog love and sending it back out. xo

Do you know what a Liebster award is?

  • The Liebster award is not exactly an accolade, you aren’t receiving a trophy but you are getting some love. Consider this a BlogLove chain letter for up-and-coming bloggers.
  • The Leibster is given to ambitious bloggers with less than 200 followers
  • The word “Liebster” in German means: sweetest, kindest, lovely, dearest, and beloved.  And if you know me, you know I love to spread love and acts of kinds. {If you follow me on Twitter you know}
  • The Liebster may not award you with a plaque, but it does mean you are being recognized. You do not have to accept the Liebster, if you do not wish to.  Nominees who except must pass the love on.
  • This award is a way to get to know fellow bloggers, and ultimately share kindness.

If you decide to accept the Leibster Award, what are you responsibilities?

  • Answer the questions that your nominator posted for his/her nominees.
  • Share 11 random facts about yourself.
  • Make up 11 new fun questions for your nominees.
  • Give some love back to your nominator and link back to his/her post.
  • You must nominate 5-11 bloggers who have less than 200 followers.
  • Once you publish your post, let your nominees know they’ve been nominated, and they can choose to accept or decline.

{And the Leibster Nominees are…}
Ashley @Downsizing
Chels @ Red Velvet Rooster
Crystal @ {Three} vs {Two}
Christina @ Home With my Tots
Jodi @ Tiny Thunder Running
Thriftanista in the City
I hope you all will except my nomination and share some more blog love. xo

My 11 Questions to answer:
1.  What is one item on your bucket list?
Hmmm… I have quite a few but my family and I just talked about this one this weekend. Visit all 50 states in the good ol’ USA.

2.  What is you favorite comfort food?
A good burger and fries {NOT-> McDondald’s}

3.  Cat or Dog?  Dog of course.

4.  What’s your favorite quote?
This is tough I’ve become quite the quote collector.  However, I believe there is one quote that makes people think, and become aware of their self inside- is a quote by Carl Jung.

5.  What is your earliest childhood memory?
Playing in my tin-like sandbox, on the balcony of my family’s military housing in Germany.

6.  Pick to celebrities to be your parents?
Yikes, racking my brain on this one….
Okay how about Bette Midler and George Lopez.  I’m thinking tons of laughter in that house.

7.  Who was the last person you called?
My husband.

8.  What is on your night stand?

Books, magazines, my iPad mini, a frog my daughter made for me, sunscreen sample, a picture of my love, and as always earrings. I usually take my earrings off before I go to bed, and just lay them on the night stand {lazy pants}.  *Missing from my night stand ->a glass of water. Every night I ask my husband to get me a glass of water, well sometimes he just does it.  If he doesn’t I ask him in my best Rosie Perez accent,  “Billy will you get me a glass of water.” No, my husband’s name is not Billy– it’s from a movie.

9.  What makes you smile?

Everyday!

10. Name of you best friend
My husband

11. What is the inspiration behind your blog name?
Okay, so I didn’t set out to become a blogger. Originally, this blog was not named Mrs. AOK, a Work in Progress. This blog was about my little Etsy shop.  Now, it’s about me. AOK are my initials.  I’m a work in progress, everyday I’m evolving, and I want to document my journey.  My thrities have been a time of growth for me– I’m finally becoming more okay in my skin, and who I am as a person.  I’m always working on me and my little army {aka my babies}.

    Thank you!

    Richard Gere is still a hottie, I think. Haven’t seen him in a while..

    I was in JROTC in hs. The other kids called us roaches on toasted cheese when we were our uniforms. Good times. 🙂

    Popcorn and pickles…will have to try.

      Agreed 🙂 Richard Gere is a hottie.

      Roaches on toasted cheese? That is interesting– the others called us pickles. Not as original.
      I left R.O.T.C the second half of my senior year.

      Pickles and Popcorn is quite Texas, pickles are sold at the movie theaters. I was surprised coming to Chicagoland that there wasn’t pickles at the movies.

      Thanks for stopping by.
