This weekend was about enjoying the moment. It was about making new friends and stepping out of my comfort zone.
It was also Second Sunday this weekend! Second Sunday means King Street becomes Disney World, minus the cool rides.
King Street was alive this weekend with droves of people soaking up the South Carolina sun and BEAUTIFUL weather.
The weather could not have been any better this Sunday.
We enjoyed the sounds and entertainment Second Sunday had to offer.
Do you see that gentleman in the air? He flipped over EIGHT people!
We enjoyed a trip to Blue Bicycle Books, a visit I have been looking forward to. I knew everyone would love it, especially my ((ahem)) tween.
I loved this room at Blue Bicycle, the “literary” room. As you see STACKS of great literary finds.
Remember when I said droves of people come out for Second Sunday, well they bring their furry little family members, which makes you have to do a shoe check. 😀 WHOOPS!
A trip to Second Sunday is NOT complete without a cookie. A cookie or two from King Street Cookies hits the spot!
This was my cookie, the chocolate chunk cookie. I had ZERO guilt eating this!!
The future blogger/writer took this picture of her cookie, the Strawberry Fields cookie. She thought you all should know about it. 🙂
We people watched while we ate our cookies.
While I walked hand-in-hand with alternating littles throughout the day, I remembered… SOAK THIS UP DEAN!
I did.
And then there was PIZZA! I had the pretty salad in the corner. The salad was super tangy with olives, cucumbers, tomatoes, vignette, and potatoes. Yes, potatoes, it was SO GOOD.
We give Monza two thumbs up!
On our way home we stopped at the park and played catch. While we were at the park we walked down the pier
I got to say it was a good day.- Ice Cube
How was your weekend?

February 11, 2015 at 12:34 pmIt’s so much fun to see your posts with your family! My sister happened to be in town visiting us (well, really, Eve). She was going to go to Eve’s music class with Sam but then Eve had a bit of a fever, so we hung out at home and ate a delicious brunch the next day. It was a low-key weekend but it was really nice. (And I want to reach into my computer screen and eat one of your cookies!)

I want to reach into my computer too. I have been craving these cookies.

February 11, 2015 at 2:49 pmWhat a perfectly blissful day/memory for you and your family. I’m so glad you got little glimpses throughout the day but not enough that you felt pulled away from what was going on. My heart swelled with the hand holding part!

February 11, 2015 at 2:51 pmoh and my weekend was spent drinking champagne from a bottle on a party bus to go dancing the night away for my friend’s 30th bday in Indy. Jeffrey and I haven’t danced (like that) in years and he told me he really missed it and wants to get a babysitter so we can do it again in our town. <3

February 12, 2015 at 8:46 amYes, I was trying to be mindful of the moment, “present”, but I know taking all of my pictures I may not have been *completely* present. However, my family knows a visit to Second Sunday = pictures. Who am I kidding the weekend, a new outfit, a day at the park, a fun activity, a funny smile all equal pictures. 🙂
My heart always swells at the handholding, I never want them to stop.
XOXO

My weekend was loooow-key and relaxing. Just what I needed.
I hope your week is going well!!
xo Always, Abby

February 12, 2015 at 10:56 amI did not taste the strawberry cookie, but my husband and daughter raved about it, which means I need to go back soon. I have been craving cookies since our visit. Glad to hear your weekend was relaxing. 🙂 Relaxation is GOOD.
Wishing you a beautiful rest of the week.

February 11, 2015 at 3:55 pmLooks like you all had an excellent day and those cookies totally just made me hungry.
Potato in salad is a-mazing – i love it! Especially if it’s just a bit warm with loads of garlic all over it.
MrsA0K2001
February 12, 2015 at 11:22 amWell, then I think you will love Monza’s salad. The potatoes unexpectedly “made” the salad.
I could totally go for cookies right about… NOW. 🙂

February 11, 2015 at 9:29 pmOur weekend was 10 degrees! Brrr!!!
That first photo of you is so gorgeous.
And I appreciate that you showed photos of the cookies. I needed to see them. You know I’m so cookie obsessed. I’m also pizza obsessed so you didn’t disappoint with that either.
King Street looks like my kind of place! I love how photos of it made me feel. As if.. it wasn’t February. I love the other 9 months, but winter has gotten me DOWN.

February 12, 2015 at 11:39 am10 degrees, 🙁 sorry.
Thank you! ::blushing::
I too am quite cookie obsessed, so I have been making myself quite hungry looking at these cookie pictures. I seriously have been craving another cookie!
You’re more than welcome to visit sunny, warm, Charleston… we could have cookies!
I will be envious of you in a few months, when you can enjoy the great outdoors without melting your face off and worrying about your hair looking like you stuck your finger in an electric socket.
XOXO
