Thank You Notes: a Teen, a Baker, and a LEGO Lover

Posted on

I love Fridays, I love thank you notes, and I love Jimmy Fallon’s Thank You Notes, so, naturally, Friday here on my blog means:

THANK YOU NOTES + JIMMY FALLON

Thank You Notes| It's FRIDAY, time for thank you notes!

Jimmy’s Thank You Notes

Jimmy didn’t have Thank You Notes last week, so how about Hashtags. #CrappyHalloween

My Thank You Notes

Thank you, time, for this….

MY BABY IS GROWING TOO FAST, PLEASE MAKE IT SLOW DOWN, TIME, PLEASE!!

Thank you, Sundays, for at times being easy. A clean house on a Sunday, with chicken roasting for chicken noodle soup, the smell of fresh baked cookies still slightly lingering in the air battling the smells of 35 pumpkin candles, while your husband and kids rake up leaves with a quickness to play catch real quick before dinner is done, and your dog basks in the usual spot where the sun peeks, but not today, instead he’ll just listen to the kids and papa at play… (my) damn near perfect SUNDAY.

Thank you, parent teacher conference week, for giving us an early out and two days off!! Some of us are battling allergies or a cold, but we’re still making the best of our long weekend. This is the reason I’m SUPER late with Thank You Notes this week. Yesterday, the family and I got so lost in our fun that I totally forgot it was THURSDAY! I usually finish up Thank You Notes on Thursday afternoon. WHOOPS!

Thank you, The LEGO Americana Roadshow, for making my little man the happiest little guy. Despite not feeling 100% this kid was motivated to see all the LEGO creations

Thank you, baby girl, for making us such delicious cookies.

I should note that her shirt reads: GIRL BOSS. She’s totally a boss. 🙂 She’s already planning her business.

And of course thank you, baby girl, for pulling one cookie aside just for me. 🙂 I LOVE YOU!

Super huge thank you, Superfly Kids, for the work you do to bring smiles to kiddos’ faces. Did you catch my post about them? You can find my Superfly Kids post here.

Score this holiday! Buy your super fly kids a super cape and give a Cause Cape to help a child facing a difficult time. Learn more here..

AND OF COURSE, THANK YOU, CUBS!! Let’s keep it going!!

The curse/spell is null and void. But hey… for the sake of music and love…

Tell me something good.

Who gets a thank you note from you this week?

Ha, ha! I love it that your daughter is a ‘Girl Boss’! And she has plans for her own business . . . You Go Girl! I hope your little boy gets better real soon––he’s a trooper. Lovely ‘Thank You Notes’. <3 xx

Thank you, Vashti! I’m so proud of her. She made the best banana bread this weekend. 🙂
And my boy is feeling better, thank goodness. However, my oldest is still battling something… oye!

Mmm. I love banana bread! I’m glad he’s better and hope your eldest gets well soon. Ha, ha. My poor mom, there’s four of us and I remember when we were kids and got sick one after the other. Not good.

Your “twin” (oldest) is just beautiful! Watch out mama, I’m sure the boys are looking! You can’t blame them! 🙂 Your baby girl is a super star with all the baking she’s been doing! Hope baby boy is feeling well soon! Have a great weekend!

Awww thank you! We (my husband and I) totally have an eye on those boys. 😀 This was my daughter’s first time wearing makeup. Her friends did it for her and my husband and I were like: WHAT? Where is our baby girl?!?!
I’m so proud of my baby girl she has been baking away, which means I’ve been eating too much carbs. However, I have a little more self control than others in this house… eh hem. 😀
And thank you, my boy is feeling much better.

I love thank you notes and feel like it’s important for my kiddos to learn to be grateful!! I have them write a thank you after they are given a gift.

This is wonderful! I totally agree, teaching our children write thank you notes is so important! I have to admit, I used to be good at having mine do it, but have slacked over the past few years!

Aww, how bittersweet to watch your kids grow up. Your daughter looks beautiful!
Isn’t that an amazing feeling when your home feels like it’s in its proper state? It’s pretty rare that mine is like that 😉

I always enjoy reading your thank you notes posts. 🙂 I need to relax more on Sundays, yours sounds perfect. Love that your girl made you a special cookie. They really do grow up too fast, I’ve been starting to realize that more and more. We had two 1pm dismissal days this week and it was grand!

🙂 It’s nice to have that little bit of extra time in during the week with the babes, right? They do grow up too fast, which is why I want to inhale in every single second I have with them.
      Wishing you the best week!

Go Cubs! Cassidy is watching right now, and no doubt biting his nails..

Your perfect Sunday is like mine!

Also, why do 14-year-olds look like 25-year-olds? Is it something in the water that makes them seem oh so wise?

    1. MrsA0K2001

      November 2, 2016 at 7:35 pm

Alright Cassidy!! Tonight is the night!!! CUBS!!

This was my daughter’s first time wearing makeup, and it almost killed us. We weren’t there when she got her makeup done, so when we showed up for group pictures we were like, “Ummm.. where is our little girl?”
Wishing you a lovely rest of the week.

I love your perfect sunday!! Your daughter is beautiful. 🙂 I remember my homecomings. I had so much fun! Being homecoming queen was my favorite part of my senior year. I loved wearing that crown 🙂

That’s awesome! 🙂 I never went up for homecoming queen, but I did win for military ball in the 10th grade.

That’s awesome that your daughter loves to bake and is already planning her business.
I’m thankful that today is Halloween and that the weather will be nice tonight. ?

    1. MrsA0K2001

      November 2, 2016 at 7:56 pm

Our Halloween weather was horrible. It rained, but not just cute sprinkle rain, downpour rain. My poor son’s green makeup began to melt along with his green hairspray, and he could taste it. YUCK! We only made it to down one street and called it quits. We still walked away with plenty of candy… three kids. 😀

I would definitely hand out a thank you note to my cousin this week! My husband was gone for work and she came over to watch my kids so I could get out of the house along!!!

I love when Jimmy does the “thank you” notes. The weather would have to get a thank-you note from me. It’s been unusually warm this time of year – it’s in the 80s. It is tied for the record of warmest day ever on November 1!

    1. MrsA0K2001

      November 2, 2016 at 8:00 pm

Wow the 80’s! It’s been in the 60’s and 50’s here, which I guess is normal for this area. I’ve only lived here for a year, so I gather that’s about right. Thank you for stopping by, Whitney!

Your kids are so incredibly beautiful <3 And I love that your daughter is wearing a Girl Boss shirt! That's amazing 🙂 And your son looks happy to be in the land of Legos. I mean, who wouldn't, right??

    Also I want a cookie 🙂

Hope you're having a great week, my sweet! XOXO Thanks always for sharing happy things from your world (and of course, Jimmy).

She’s a boss for sure. I love it.
The LEGO exhibit was awesome! I was like a kid wanting to take a thousand pictures of it all.
