Thank you, little poets, for sharing your poems with us. I loved hearing your creativity flow from you lips. Acrostic, diamante, couplet, and haiku, have nothing on you. 🙂

We’ve been getting ready for poetry night all day. Yes, we made cookies too. #Homeschool A photo posted by Mrs.AOK (@mrs_aok) on

    1. I am happy to share a smile. You’re Thank You’s were just as smile-inducing. Keep them coming. 🙂
I do hope you will try making chilaquiles, they are SO YUMMY!
      Enjoy your weekend.

  1. I’m so happy I saw this post this morning because I missed that recipe post! It looks so good!! You are amazing with the home school things you are doing with your kids. The poetry night looked like it was so much fun and more intimate than one of those crowded ones at a school auditorium. I feel like it makes the kids appreciate it so much more. Great job!

    1. Thank you, Karen, that means a lot to me. I sometimes doubt myself as a homeschooling mama, I wonder if I’m doing things right, enough, up to standards…
I know that my kids are happy, they’re having fun, and that makes me happy.
Poetry night was fun. I even set up a little mingle station with food and cookies.

I hope you will check out and try the recipe. 🙂
      Happy Friday!!!

  2. Yes! So important to find time for creativity and it warms my heart to read about your children encouraging you 🙂 You make homeschooling look like so much fun for your children, I hope they love it!

    1. You are so right, creative time IS important. I’m glad my babies encouraged me to keep going, we had fun drawing a roadrunner today. 🙂

I hope they love it too! I want learning to be fun and positive; I’m not sure if I’m doing things 100% right, but I know they seem happier.

  3. I always love seeing these “thank you notes” posts! They are the best! The pictures from Poetry Night are melting my heart. You are such a good, creative mama and I can tell you are totally rocking the homeschooling. I seriously want to do some kind of “happy mail” swap- I think that would be so fun! We should plan something one of these days. 🙂

    xo Always, Abby

    1. Aww thanks, Abby!!! You’re such a sweetheart!!!
I am totally down for a happy mail swap!!! Let’s do it!
      🙂 xOXO

  4. Wow, I love all the fun and fitness and art you have with your family! It’s so inspiring to me. And the positive attitude about it all is so contagious.
I see cookies at poetry night! And they look GOOD!

    1. Thanks, Tamara! I “try” to keep it positive… try. 🙂
You know we had to have cookies. The kiddos helped me make those. 😉

    1. Oh, don’t do it, it’s bad. Soda Saga, is just as addicting or maybe even worse than the first one. I’m such an addict!! Shhh don’t tell anyone. 🙂
      And thank you!

  5. Those cookies look so delicious! I think its so awesome that you all have a poetry night. Such a great way to foster reading, writing, and public speaking. Good job mama! 🙂
