Two Truths and a Lie Part 2: The Whole Truth and Nothing but the Truth

Today I shall share the truth, the whole truth and nothing but the truth.

If you’re totally lost, you may have missed Friday’s post. You may want to visit that post HERE. But if not, I guess I’ll give a recap, but you will miss all the fun GIFs that I posted on Friday.

On Friday I posted my first ever Two Truths and a Lie post, I had been wanting to do so for awhile. I’m so glad I FINALLY got around to it. I asked everyone to guess which one they thought was the alternative fact. Are you sure you don’t want to read PART 1? I’m about to spill it.

I Promise to Tell the Truth, the Whole Truth and Nothing but the Truth

I’m Starting a New Blog!

This is: TRUE!! I know, I know, I’ve been sporadic here, but I’ve been working on things here, there, everywhere. The new blog won’t mean I’m not blogging here anymore. Actually, I think it will probably motivate me to blog here more. ANNNNND thankfully, I’m not doing the new blog alone. I have a partner! I’m working with my longtime blog/IRL friend Phyllis (Verified Mom). Phyllis and I have known each other for a few years, she’s the first blog friend I ever met in real life. She is also the lady that gave me a shot at writing on a more grand scale. Not sure if you know this or not, but I was the Senior Managing Editor Tots To Teens digital magazine and blog.

Anyway, our new website is all about POSITIVITY! Living a Positive Lifestyle is what Phyllis and I are both aspiring to do and we want to do that with you! As you know peace, love, kindness and positivity are HUGE to me. These things are so important to me that (as some of you know) I stepped away from all things online (when things were getting super ugly, but I guess that hasn’t stopped too much since then, I’m just better at filtering).

I had to gain my composure, I had to realign myself and make sure I was only taking in the good, and filtering out the negative. When Phyllis brought up the idea it ignited something in me. I’ll be honest, after I said yes, I thought; “Dean, where the hell are you going to get the extra time?” But positivity is something I’m passionate about, so I’ll make the time. Plus:

I hope to see you there. 🙂

My Mom Sent Me to Anger Management!

This is: TRUE! I know, I know, that doesn’t even make sense, right? I didn’t think so either, but she sent my younger brother and I. We went to one session with a group of whiny adults. Guess, what happened, it made me angry. There was one lady who kept complaining about her life and everybody in her life. I think my mom realized perhaps my brother and I didn’t need it. My mom agreed there were some serious complainers in there. Maybe the anger management stint made her come to the realization that my brother and I were good kids, who were a little mouthy at times. I was an A-B student involved in the school, but since my dad was gone (stationed in probably Korea at the time), my mom may have just needed a little help.

I Chickened Out When I Saw Kanye at FAO Schwarz in Chicago

This is: False! I lived in the Chicagoland area for eight years (well, nine if you count the year that my husband and I moved there) and I never bumped into Kanye one time. But I did visit FAO Schwarz a few times before they shut it down. 🙁

So there you have, it….

My pants are no longer on fire. 🙂

Did you guess correctly?

  1. OMG you are starting a new blog. Now that’s some exciting news! I’ve always wanted to do a collaborated blog. I love this idea Dean. Can’t wait to see what you lovely ladies come up with. Blog friends are so special. I’ve cultivated some real friendships from my blog. I really want to get into freelance writing. I had no idea you were the Senior Managing Editor at Tots to Teens very cool. I’m loving all of the Housewife’s gifs. I’m a housewife junkie and I’m proud of it 🙂 Can’t wait for NY this week.

    1. Thank you, Mary! I’m super excited about this new adventure. We can all use a little more positivity, right? 🙂
I agree blog friends are special, I consider myself lucky to have them. 🙂
You and I both! I would love to pick up some freelance work. Working for T2T was so much fun and there was always happy mail. 😉

I’m such a sucker for Real Housewives of EVERYTHING. Well, I take that back, I didn’t watch the London, Dallas or Melbourne casts… Those were casts, right? Yikes, I may get my super fan card snatched. 😀

    1. Thank you! I’m not sure if I’m going to keep it this way or not. My whole blog disappeared!! I freaked out and had to learn how to set up my blog the best I could. This is where I am at, it needs improvement.

    1. Thank you, Ashley.
I’m not sure if I’m loving the layout just yet. I thought I lost everything, but it was just an issue with my theme. Sadly, for me, I have no idea how to fix these things. So… this is where I am at. Although I’m not completely sure if I love it or not, I’m proud I got this much done. 🙂

  2. I was leaning towards the Kanye story being a lie. I’ll be checking out your new blog soon. I see you already have some great posts to read.

  3. Love the idea of your new joint blog! I had to step back from social media for a while for the same reasons, and like you, I decided just to filter the rubbish and I feel better for it! 😀

    1. Thank you, Kat. 🙂
Social media can get ugly, right?
I’m so glad you and are choosing to filter out the hate.

  4. Nope, I did not guess correctly. Still can’t imagine you needing to go to anger management. I’m excited about you and Phyllis starting a new blog together, especially since it’s geared towards positive living. We can all benefit from a ton of positivity right now.

    1. I know it sounds crazy, right? But it’s true. I was a little mouthy at times, especially when my dad wasn’t around.
I agree we can all use positivity. I hope to spread some and of course take some in for myself. 🙂

  5. That’s hilarious about the anger management class! And I’m so excited to read through your new blog (sorry, so late in the game on this one). We all need more positivity in our lives, amiright?

  6. I’m so glad to hear you are starting a new blog–and a space for positivity?? Count me in! Please let me know when it goes live–would love to follow along! Also I think you’re staying away from Facebook lately (maybe I’m wrong though) but we’d LOVE to have you in our Peaceful Posse group, because you are bringing the sunshine and I know I’d love to see that in my feed every day 🙂

I can’t believe your mom sent you to anger management class–but I’m glad she realized it wasn’t really a place for you. And hey, makes for a great story, right?? XOXO LOVED reading this from you and seeing all these housewives. They are hilarious 🙂

    1. We’re live! Also, I just sent the request. I’m not much of a Facebooker, but I love the thought of being a part of a positive group of ladies. SO, YES I’M IN… well if y’all approve me.

I can’t believe she sent me either.
Those housewives are something else, aren’t they? I’m not sure if you watch RHOBH, but I just watched the reunion (part 2), tell me why I cried? The bunny return. It made me so sad. 😀 What’s wrong with me??!

      1. YAY!! so glad to have you and look forward to connecting there. I’ve kind of been not really present much on Facebook lately either; too much drama 🙂

OH, MY GOODNESS… that scene with the teddy bear really hurt my heart. You know, Lisa R. kind of annoyed me this season but that was so wrong of Kim to do that and she was super b*tchy about it, too. Right??
