Is it time for another Currently post? Why the hell is time flying!?!! I guess we just have to go with it, huh?

Currently August 2016: Here's what I'm currently up to this August.

Reading:

So, we purchased Harry Potter and the Cursed Child the day it came out. My oldest daughter finished it the next day. I decided I would read it with all the kids, we have “school” on Mondays and Tuesdays, so I thought we’d save one of those days for reading together. That worked well for about 3 days, but they wanted to read on their own. I totally understand. So this is what I’m currently reading on my own, I’m almost done.

Currently Reading August 2016: Harry Potter and the Cursed Child

You know I always pick up crafty and artsy books…

Currently Reading August 2016

Here is the next book I’m diving into. I couldn’t help but start it. I must resist, because of Harry and Albus.

Watching:

Can you believe I’m all done with Game of Thrones? I finished it too fast, now I have to wait until next summer like everyone else to view season 7.

Did you see Friday’s post, I shared a BAMFING GoT recap compliments of Samuel L. Jackson.

My family and I were all into the Olympics this year. Did you watch?

Voice fans? Are there any voice fans? I’m excited for the next season of The Voice, I don’t know why I watched that little preview they gave us on Sunday… TEASE.

Currently, I’m listening to my son play a geography game on the iPad. 🙂

Feeling like I’m slowly but surely swimming out of this riptide. Thank you to my encouragers!!

Our one year anniversary of living in Washington. I cannot believe it’s already been one year! Do you remember the craziness it took for us to get here? And thankfully we made it. It’s been quite a ride.

    I love this post!
I want to start Game of Thrones with my hubby. I watched the first or second episode and it was so freakin nuts I had to stop at that time. I wasn’t in the right head space to watch it. I think I am ready now. lol

      You and your hubby. 🙂
For a long time I wasn’t all about GoT. It took some heavy convincing to get me to watch, but boy am I glad I did! It’s SO GOOD!!
I totally watch with my hands covering my eyes durning some parts, because YIKES those scenes look too real.
Let me know if y’all watch. 🙂

I’m not ready for school to start. WHERE DID THE SUMMER GO?
I hate to admit this, but this will be my first time reading A Separate Peace. The Great Gatsby was my favorite in high school. 🙂

This has been a fun August for you. I have read so much this month! September will be cruel in terms of work but I will have read some good books to carry me through!

      August 27, 2016 at 12:15 pm

July and August always seem so busy for me; with birthdays, celebrations, and kids it gets busy, which also means it feels too short. 🙁
I didn’t read as much as I would have liked to this summer, even with 5 billion library visits this summer, it wasn’t enough.
Wishing you a lovely September with tons of happy books!!
      XOXO

I can’t believe it’s almost over either. This summer flew by. And as much as I wanted to stay, I am kind of… okay I’m excited for fall. 🙂
August has been pretty good to me, I hope it has been good to you too, Amber. 🙂
Which one Harry Potter and The Cursed Child or A Separate Peace?
You have to let me know if you do pick ’em up and if you liked or didn’t like. 🙂

They are really good books that are superbly written, but I get it, they’re not everyone’s cup of tea.
I agree, reading is so important. I’m happy to say I’m raising a small gang of voracious readers. 🙂
      Have a lovely week!

I finished reading Harry Potter and the Cursed Child in like 3 hours!! It was not as good as the original series but it did fill my HP sized void for a bit. Congratulations on your anniversary. Y’all are so cute!
That is one fun-filled, memory packed August you had there.

    1. MrsA0K2001

      August 29, 2016 at 10:37 am

Harry Potter and the Cursed Child was SO GOOOD!
It was a bit different from the original series, I kept telling myself because they’re adults now calm down. 😀 Malfoy.
There were parts that you’d read and remember J.K didn’t work alone.
Despite that I enjoyed the book immensely.

And thank you for you sweet comment. 🙂

Yay for battling the riptide. That’s huge! The hugest!
I bought the new Harry Potter but I haven’t read it yet. I cannot wait.
I totally remember your debacle a year ago and how has it been a year??
I love your love with your husband! I’m barely speaking to mine right now so that seems enviable.

I’ve never Harry Potter, but I bought the book for my husband since he is a big fan. Happy Anniversary! I usually watch the blind auditions to the Voice, but after that I stop. I just don’t like how they drag it out so much to get to the actual live show 🙁

Currently reading a series that has been sitting on my shelf for way to long and silently excited inside that two of my three kids will be making their way out of the house some of the week when school starts next week. This mama needs some sanity back.

Voice fan here, and yes that was such a teaser! I’m looking forward to the new season because each year it gets better and better! You guys survived one year in Washington, yay! I hope the 2nd year is just as great! The Olympics were great and we had 2 people from the lowcountry representing for us. One came in 5th in the world in shot put…Raven…they had a parade for her downtown and celebrated her return… Yay Charleston! 🙂
