holiday, Things I Love

Our Holiday Playlist

Posted on

This week many of us will enjoy the company of family and friends.  My family, is such an important part of me, as you may have noticed.  I decided, this week I will share my family with you.  We are having a big old holiday party, we’re going to play music, watch movies, read some holiday books, and share gifts. If you have some time, come on over the hot cocoa is on, (I add cinnamon to mine), and I’m not stingy with the marshmallows.

Last year, I shared some of our favorite holiday jams, this year I’m doing it again.  I have to be honest, only one song changed.

December 1st, that’s when the holiday music begins at my house.  If my babies have been in my truck, you can trust Y102.5 {The Christmas Station} is tuned in 🙂 .  However,  this year, we started even earlier; what can I say, my youngest daughter is a Christmas elf, so I believe.

Papa Elf and I both share the same favorite, The Christmas Song, a la Nat King Cole.  However, to give a little variety, I chose my second favorite, It’s Beginning To Look A Lot Like Christmas, sung by Bing Crosby.MyLittleLady

My tween elf is the only person in the world that I know whose favorite holiday song is Paul McCartney’s, A Wonderful Christmastime.  We all love the song here, and whenever it comes on we always turn it up for her. 🙂  NovBaby

My baby girl, our real life elf, loves, loves, LOVES, Mariah Carey’s, All I Want For Christmas is YOU, she doesn’t like any other rendition.

Mrs. AOK, A Work in Progress: And then there were five.

My son, the throwback, has always loved fedoras, button downs, and jazzy sounds.  His favorite holiday song, is the song we have heard EVERYDAY since December 1st. (No, we are not tired of it.) I don’t know if many people would consider Pennies From Heaven, a “holiday” song, but eh it’s in the ELF movie. 🙂

What are some of your family’s favorite holiday songs?

I still love Mariah’s All I Want For Christmas Is You. It just makes me happy every I hear it. Another favorite song is Christina Aguilera’s version of The Christmas Song!!! It came out years ago and I love dancing to it! And I also love that charity song by Band-Aid…Do They Know It’s Christmas (I think that’s the name). When my daughter and I are in the car we always have the Christmas channel on Sirius XM!

I’m with you, you just get happy when you hear Miriah’s, “All I Want For Christmas Is You”. I need to hear this Band-Aid song. Our Christmas channel is already down 🙁 the kids were bummed. I hope you and your family had a wonderful Christmas.

I will always love the Mariah Carey one and the Paul McCartney one. Just so many memories associated with both.
I almost want to sob that this will all be over in three days. Bah!
I’m a big fan of cinnamon in anything and I’m also not stingy with marshmallows. And whipped cream.

These are all great 🙂 I thought I hadn’t heard of the Paul McCartney song until I started listening to it. It’s always nice to listen to Christmas music for the month of December.
