With A Name Like Love #BookReview

Posted on

Happy Thursday! Last week I gave my tween the day off, but she’s here today to share her thoughts on the book With a Name Like Love. I honestly, wish I would have read the book myself; you’ll see why. I’m going to go ahead and let her fill you in….

The Catcher in The Book: a tween summer reading series. #BookReviews for #Tweens

Hello everyone! I’m happy to be back this week and share my thoughts on With a Name Like Love. This book was such a surprise for me, I truly enjoyed it.

With a Name Like Love Review

Olivene “Ollie” Love, the oldest daughter of the Reverend Everlasting Love, is looking for a taste of the real world.  Ollie’s whole life was always on the road with her family, while her father preached throughout the South.  Ollie’s family decides to stop in Binder, Arkansas for a routine preaching, this is when things change for Ollie.  While passing out flyers for the townspeople to come see her father preach, she meets a peculiar boy.  Ollie and her family soon learn the peculiar boy is Jimmy Koppel, son of Henry and Virginia Koppel.  Henry Koppel, was a drunken-no-good-man.  Henry would beat his wife Virginia and was terrible to Jimmy.  Henry would torture Jimmy’s frogs, he would put out his cigarettes on the frogs!  One day Jimmy had enough and ran into town, when he returned home the police had his mother in cuffs.  Jimmy’s mother confesses that she killed Henry Koppel.  When Ollie and her family learn about Jimmy’s mother’s story, they do not believe it. Together Ollie and Jimmy find out the real story behind Henry’s death.

My thoughts:

Let me just say this book is AWESOME!!! When I first checked this book out at the library I thought it was going to be a boring love story.  Boy was I wrong!!!  This book is filled with excitement, there are plenty of twists and turns along the way. This book is definitely a MUST READ.

Enjoy your summer reading 🙂

My daughter was quite excited about this book, keeping it nearby at all times. She would give me updates because she said, she couldn’t keep it to herself. Now, it’s my turn to read With A Name Like Love.

Adding this to my reading list. We have been reading up a storm over and I am always on the lookout for a good read, especially one that maybe family friendly.

We love summer reading here 🙂 This book does have a family element, but there are some dark spots. It does end on a happy note.

Dean! Thanks so much for letting her tween share about the book. I think that is so different that you let her share with us. 🙂 I emailed you not too long ago. I’m hoping your email is the same. 🙂

Hey lady! I’m enjoying this summer series with my daughter, not to sound corny BUT it has brought us even closer 🙂 I’m enjoying our “book meetings” we talk books & blog.
Yes, I got your email. I’m sorry I didn’t respond. I have the bad habit of checking via my phone, I hate filling out things or commenting from my phone. I always intend to reply from my iPad or computer later but I forgot, my apologies.
