Join us each week as we provide you with a quote (by a woman), and you let that quote inspire your written word! Allow it to lead your writing in whatever way works for you. And we mean that! Literally, wherever it leads you to write is wonderful, and perfect, and worthy of sharing! Share, share, share! Let yourself be inspired each week at That’s What She Said! Write on!!
#1 rule: Have fun and be creative ♡
Go find out what she said. Check out the other blogs linked up and show them some love.
Don’t hold back! We want to read what you are writing.
Okay, we do ask you to hold back ONLY if you are NOT following the rules. This link-up is for those who are inspired by the quote of the week. Get inspired!
Not a rule but a suggestion… please share That’s What She Said on your social media. Example: Join @Mrs_AOK & @Courtneynoel Tuesday’s for #TWSS a weekly link-up inspired by women’s words.
Thanks for sharing your “home” with us last week! 😉
Does anything ever go as “planned”? I am not an actress, an astronaut (astronauts were all the rage in the late 80’s, if you were a kid in the late 80’s you wanted to be an astronaut), or a bigwig at a fancy smancy New York magazine. I had planned on being married one day, having a kid or two, (or in my case three) and being happy. Life is not something you can plan. Life just is. Oh, what a ride it is!
******
Sometimes, two people meet
Sometimes, those people fall in love, passionately in love, the kind of love that feels intense that burns in your soul, the burn will not go away.
The heart ignites a dangerous fire
That fire has a name and it’s His
but she’s yours, or is she His?
It doesn’t matter because that flame has no bearing on your feelings for her.
She has you.
Those white pants, that white shirt, even with two kids in tow
She deserves love
You give love
He doesn’t
You do
She needs YOU
You love her so hard
You make her your wife
The four of you start a new life
You have a family, you had a struggle, but you made a family with her in the white pants
9 months later you made Her (your sunshine)
She represents fire, love, and passion
She loves fierce too
She looks just like you
You never knew that life would bring you here: holding a baby girl singing songs and holding back tears.
You go on to make a son
he’s hot-headed, witty, and cute
You name him after you
Now your family is complete
Life takes you on many twists
but I cannot understand this…
When did the flame finally blow out?
When did you truly decide to let it all go?
Life has a way of doing this…. i admit.
I choose to not let the fire out
I will be there
I will always be around
He will call my name and I will be there for him and his kids, my kids, our kids
Next week we’re letting Rachel Platten inspire us with her song “Fight Song“. We want you to share your fight song or create one for yourself. While you’re at it check out Holley Kitchen’s take on this song in regard to her breast cancer. Get writing! We cannot wait to see what you’ll share 🙂
This is beautiful! I think I’ve read and re-read it about 5 times now. I love how you were inspired by the quote to write this. I feel like you’re saying that while we sometimes can’t control the twists and turns in our life, we can choose to stay present and cherish the relationships that we have now to continue the ride together. Even if parts of our life aren’t as we planned you have to see the good. I’m probably rambling now but I just really enjoyed how you wrote your post!
Can I be honest here, of course I can, that’s what my place is about, right? I try not to share too much here on my blog, but I’m trying to be more open, so if this seemed somewhat coded it was. I apologize. I only want to protect those who I speak of who don’t have a chance to state their case… but everything I wrote was true. (And no this isn’t completely about me, until the end.) However, the past always has a way of shaping the future…
So, yes, I guess I’m questioning those who don’t cherish the relationships that at one time was EVERYTHING. I’m also admitting through others I have learned how events shaped me, does that make sense?
XOXO
HAHA “We Are Family”, I had “Desperado” stuck in my head after re-reading this.
The people I speak of have certainly taught me tons of love and passion, my takeaway. 🙂

Ha! I don’t think I had any hand in planning my life, that seemed to be left up to fate. Yes I heard of that show, it is with Jerry Seinfeld right? Is it on HBO, if so that is probably why I have not seen it, I don’t have HBO.
Thank you, Lisa! This was a tough one to share, the words just started to flow out of me, I kept questioning publishing this post. My husband was over my shoulder telling me “hit publish, this is good, this is emotion, this is you”. So, I did, and I hope it’s okay, and I hope those who are mentioned somewhat secretively do not mind. However, the past has a way of shaping us, and we learn from it.
I’m sure they had a plan, but that plan didn’t work out. I plan on trying my damnedest to make to work on things differently…
XOXO
Thank you!
I love the adventure. I’m about to start a new chapter, this should be fun, I hope. 🙂
And you, you have a new adventure I CANNOT WAIT TO READ ABOUT!
XOXO
