A Blogger’s Tell-Tale Tale

Oh, the thump, thump, thumping that has been going off in my head, it’s been something terrible, I have been trying to shake it off,  yet it hadn’t seized.  I thought I could muffle it with T.V while I folded laundry, because if I were idle the thumping would surely take over me… that did not work.  (However, I have to say Wendy Williams did provide me with some laughs.)  The thumping was slightly muted while with my family watching Christmas movies sippin‘ cocoa. However, somewhere in the back of my head the thumping was still there.  I am quite sure those around me heard the thumping, as I had relayed a few of  my concerns, however, they did not say they heard it too, it was just me.

I was teaching the kids, and I had a quick minute to check emails while they were working on their project, while I sat there the thumping became down right boisterous. I knew what it was, but I stored it away,  I got up and finished my day.  This didn’t go on for one day, no, it went on for more, Tuesday, Wednesday, TODAY I couldn’t take it anymore.

I woke up with the thumping, I woke up to the thought of an empty screen, I fell asleep with a different idea for that empty screen, but here I am filling that screen, that screen I left empty for three whole days!  I saw the flickering light, I didn’t want it to blow out!

My friend Tamara spoke of the lights going out on many blogs lately, I in NO WAY  want the lights to go out.  I know over the next few weeks, things may become slightly scarce around here.  I may hear a thumping, but I think it will be more of a mutter to me, I’m sure it will be muffled in holiday fun.  I certainly didn’t mean for a sparsity to begin, so here I am.  The thumping has seized, and the planning for the next few weeks will take place, perhaps that will help, and this will happen nevermore… {fingers crossed}

  1. This time of year is tricky. I think most of us anticipate quietness on a lot of blogs, understandably. It’s a time for family and celebration and being present. If I can make it past this cold I can’t seem to shake, I’ll put up two more blogs posts before the end of the year and then take a break, but hope to come charging right back in in 2015. Happy holidays, friend!

    1. Bev-
My holiday wishes for you, for you to be well, and for an even MORE successful 2015!
I think I have 3-4 posts in me until next year 🙂 Maybe some short fun lists will help out to fill blank space.
I want to get it all done this weekend so, I can enjoy every single second with my family <3
      Wishing you the Happiest Holidays!

  2. I plan on taking a break after this week to enjoy time with my family and kids while they’re out of school. It’s so nice to take a break and recharge. I hope you enjoy each and every moment with your family this holiday season. I know you’ll be giving Mr. Poe a run for his money with every post your write! Merry Christmas and Happy 2015! xoxo

    1. Oh, WOW, thanks Chastity!! That was a huge sweet comment, Poe is a great 🙂 I don’t know if I could ever touch him.
I’m looking forward to a little break 🙂 I’m lining up posts this weekend while everyone sleeps, although they’re going to help me with a few.
Merriest Holidays to you and your beautiful family!!

  3. Staying on top of everything can prove challenging this time of year, that is for sure! I hope your holidays are full of love and joy though, and that it helps balance out the stress! Sending love your way, my friend!

    xo Always, Abby

    1. Thanks for the love, Abby! I plan to take full advantage of my time with my family 2 weeks of family time and fun.
Wishing you and your family the happiest holidays!

  4. I think I hear the thumping sometimes too.
    And I would!
I’ll probably take it easy next week or so. I never really do but I bet January will provide a lot of inspiration for many. And there are still bloggers out there who haven’t even started being bloggers.. yet!

    1. You do? The thumping… oh the thumping!
I’m actually looking forward to a little chill down, and family time. I think I’ll have plenty to say in 2015 🙂
I look forward to welcoming the new bloggers, and of course keeping with my old favorites 🙂
      Happy Holidays!

  5. Hey lady! I’ve been wondering where you’ve been at lately. Miss you! I too, read Tamara’s post and it hit really close to home for me. My blogging light hasn’t gone out, but it has dimmed in recent months. Only recently have I truly felt motivated to blog (I sure my refreshing on things on the blog helped!), but I’m still taking it slow. I’ve sacrificed so much time this year between design work and blogging, that I’m well overdue for a break. I think we all are! Wishing you warm and happy holiday wishes and a very restful break!

    1. Thanks Tenns! I know the two of us will come back in 2015 and own it 🙂
I’m thinking a little break is much needed, and will help to get the creaitve juices flowing. I’m looking forward to seeing you thrive and take on 2015 blog and businesswise, you got it!!! Wishing you and your family the happiest holidays.

  6. I want to keep blogging when I can, it just may keep me sane over the break. Though I say that now, I just may veg out and shut down and read books…we shall see.

    1. Veg’ing out sounds great especially with some great books 🙂 I can feel the shut down starting to take over me, yesterday was our first day of break and I was already entering “vacation” mode.
Wishing you and your family the happiest holidays!

  7. I think taking a break here and there can help to not become overwhelmed or stressed out about blogging or the lack thereof. I’ve seen a lot of bloggers get burned out and even more talk about how it’s starting to feel more like a job than a passion. I’m glad the lights here won’t be going out any time soon and look forward to your posts in the New Year!

    1. I would hate to feel like blogging is a job! It’s not a hobby, it’s something more special, something I never thought I’d fall in love with, but I have. For that reason perhaps a little break is much needed 🙂

  8. Hello! Life comes first. That’s the way I see it. I love blogging and interacting with other bloggers but I love writing stories and spending time with my family more. I try to balance the two but it can become quite difficult during this time of year. So don’t worry, I think everyone understands. 😀 Happy Holidays! <3

    1. I’m glad you agree, as much as I’m in love with blogging, I’m deeply, madly in love with my life. I think living it, helps here… well, I’d like to think anyway.

  9. Take the break, and ENJOY!!!!! You will come back with SO much to share…. I stepped away from twitter and it felt awesome!!!!! Hoping your Christmas was amazing, and have a FANTASTIC New Year!!!!!!

    1. I’ve had such a nice break, thank you. It’s nice to unplug every once in awhile even if it’s for a couple of days. I have a friend who makes sure she unplugs all weekend long, I think that’s awesome.
      Happy New Year, my friend!
